About the possibility of an inclusive education under the current chilean economic and social development model

The article analyzes the relationship between formal education and economic and social development models. From there the characteristics of the Chilean education system, understood as a result of the installation of a neoliberal capitalist model and ideology are detailed. Its consequences are discussed in the financing, quality conception, evaluation mechanisms, notion of diversity and the effect on educational actors to contrast with the principles of inclusive education, widely appointed from the academic and political sphere. The discussion aims to reflect on the applicability of inclusive education in the current national context.
