This article presents an experience that unfolds in the first two years of a school in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, whose students belong mostly the most disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors of our society. We describe and analyze two strategies that seek to strengthen performance of the most vulnerable students and the teachers who work with them: classroom assistants, and the integrated course. Both bring out the positive impact that has, with the difficulties of living together, activation of the desire to learn.
