Education experiences in Intercultural Indigenous University of Michoacán (UIIM) from a gender perspective

Abstract

This text is a brief analysis of the relationship between education that aims to be inclusive and diverse (as is proposed from the viewpoint of intercultural) and the presence of gender relations that subordinate women. From experience in teaching in Indigenous Intercultural University of Michoacan were identified problems and challenges faced by students, mainly indigenous women in their roles as students and professionals. To which is added the lack of a gender approach that is transverse to an institution with intercultural orientation.

Ivy Jacaranda Jasso Martínez, Universidad de Guanajuato

Doctora en Ciencias Sociales con Especialidad en Estudios Rurales por El Colegio de Michoacán, Licenciada en Antropología, especialidad en Antropología Social por la Universidad Veracruzana, México. Candidata al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. Además es Directora del proyecto de investigación “Las prácticas políticas en comunidades purhépechas de Michoacán, apoyado por COECYT/UIIM, Directora del proyecto de investigación “Pueblos indígenas en Guanajuato. Problemáticas, negociaciones y perspectivas ante la reciente aprobación de una ley indígena para el estado”, financiado por la Universidad de Guanajuato.

Doctora en Ciencias con especialidad en Desarrollo Rural, en el área de Ciencias Sociales (Colegio de Postgraduados). Profesora investigadora de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Campus Celaya-Salvatierra (México).
