University commission on disability: management experience at the National University of La Plata

Abstract

The University Committee on Disability of the UNLP, was conceived thirteen years ago with the goal of full inclusion in the university system, so everyone can enter and be a part of the university to study, work and participate in the various programmes being offered. Our intention through this writing is to convey our experience, to describe our objectives, and the progress achieved as well as the actions carried out and the ones yet to be implemented. Interdisciplinary work is that which sustains our practices and hierarchy. We are convinced that the issue permanently needs the contribution of all university faculties, teachers, non-teaching staff and students, through all areas of action, academic, research and extension, promoting reflection and a proactive approach to facilitate access to the University and the eradication of all forms of discrimination.
