Abstract

This article discusses the idea Divertad, an invented word, a synthesis of several ideas: freedom and dignity in diversity. It is an ideal in which people with disabilities have full freedom and full dignity, in which people are not discriminated against and oppressed by their difference and have the same opportunities as other people. To build the Divertad is a proposal based on the model of diversity, dignity or intrinsic recognition, human rights or extrinsic recognition and social public policy or social recognition.
